VIII International Song Festival „Rzeszow Carpathia Festival” 2012

The aims of the Festival:
- To confront and activate international artistic and educational communities
- To promote a vocal personalities, to help improving artisitc qualifications of the vocalists
Regulation:
The Regulation apply to the annual contest for a vocal personality, organised within the ,,Rzeszow Carpathia Festival”. The aim of the contest is to select the most interesting vocal personality. The criteria are determined by the Jury during their meeting before the presentation of the first performer. Parallel to the contest for a vocal personality, there shall be a contest for the most interesting composition, the best instrumentalist and the most interesting scenic personality.
I. GENERAL RULES
1. The Festival may be entered by participants over 16 years old from all over the world: music bands or individual performers-soloists, duets, trios and quartets.
2. The performers who doesn’t have their own band willl be accompanied by the festival orchestra, of which the members will be announced after ending the qualifications for the festival.
3. The laureates of the Grand Prix from the previous editions of the Festivals are not allowed to apply for this edition of the Festival.
4. The participants shall prepare one song for the Festival which should be obligatorily original.
5. By an original song the organizers of the Festival understand a composition written by the performer himself or especially for him.
6. The song may be perform in any language.
II. FORMAL REQUIREMENTS REGARDING APPLYING FOR THE FESTIVAL
1. Performers and institutions interested in entering the VIII edition of the International Song Festival ,,Rzeszow Carpathia Festival” 2012 are obliged to sent the application for the Festival which has to include:
a) a legible (capital letters) filled out Application Form (Annex to the Regulation of the Festival),
b) musical notation of the performing song in case the participant will not be accompanied by the own music band.
c) CD including performing song, recorded in WAVE or MP3 (the quality of the recording should make it possible to present the music pieces and performers on the official webpage of the Festival)
d) lyrics of the performing song
e) two photographs (printed and recorded on the CD) and a CV with the artistic output (foreigners -written in English or Russian language) for the purposes of the printed Festival publications.
2. The Application should be obligatory sent by 29 February 2012 by post (the date of the postmark shall decide) and by e-mail.

3. The application sent by the regular post as well as by e-mail shall include all elements mentioned in paragraph II point 1. a) b) c) d) and e) (the scan of application form sent by e-mail must by clear and legible). Failure to sent any of mentioned above elements or other formal lapses (missing or elligible information) will disqualify the participant.
4. The application sent by e-mail shall be sent in one Message. In case of technical problems caused by great amount of data, which can’t be sent by one e-mail, should be sent in a few following e-mails.
5. Every received email will be confirmed by the organizers by sending an email back.
6. The organizers reserve the right not sending back the materials (CD, photographs) attached to the applications received by the regular post.
III. PROCEDURE OF QUALIFYING THE PARTICIPANTS AND CHOOSING THE WINNERS OF THE FESTIVAL
1. All applied compositions will be judged in two stages:
Stage I – qualifying the participants to take a part in the Festival based on the received compositions (all conditions mentioned in the paragraph II point 2. and 3. of the Regulation shall be fullfil), made by the Qualifying Committee *. The persons qualified for the Festival shall receive
a written confirmation by 30 April 2012. The Programme of the Festival will be sent by 31 May 2012.
*Members of the Qualifying Committee will be known by 31 January 2012.
Stage II – rating the compositions and the live performance by the Jury of the Festival* performed by the participants of the Festival. The Jury shall single out and award the following prizes:
- Grand Prix of the Festival – co-financing the promotion of the Winner (co-financing
- sponsoring the cost of publishing CD or co-financing-sponsoring the cost of a concert tour) and invitation for presenting a concert in next edition of the Festival - 45.000 zł (11.250 euro)
- The Award for the 1st place
- The Award for the 2nd and 3rd place
- The Audience Award ,,Rzeszów Carpathia Festival”.
- The Award for the best composition
- The Award for the best instrumentalist
- The Award for the best stage character
- individual distinctions acknoledge by the jury
* The members of the Jury of the final competition shall be announced by 31 May 2012
2. The Jury shall reserve the right to admit to the competition performers presenting the music from the borderline of the poetical song, if the performer shall emerge as the personality who should be presented and supported.
3. The organisers reserve the right to limit the registrations and to invite a certain number of participants – the Grand Prix winners of international festivals.
4. In case of any doubts concerning the composition, the Jury shall have the right to decide whether it is to be accepted or not.
IV. REQUIREMENTS REGARDING PARTICIPATION IN THE FESTIVAL
1. The participants agree to entrust the Organizer with the right to use free of charge received recordings and his/her effigy, as well as copyrights and related to it all conditions for the informational, advertising and promotional purposes without time and territorial restrictions within following exploit areas:
a) consolidateing and multiplying recording with all methods, including printing, reprographic, and digital method.
b) marketing, public performance, reproducting, broadcasting, and releasing
2. The travelling and insurance costs of the participants of the Festival shall be covered by the delegating institutions or the participants themselves. Each underage participant should be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
3. The organizers of the Festival provide the participants with the accommodation and breakfest
(dinners and suppers are paid by the participants themselves)
4. All participants of the Festival are obliged to take part in the joint final concert. If they do not, it shall mean their resign from the acknowledged awards and are returning of the costs of accommodation and board.
V. MODIFICATION OF THE FESTIVAL REGULATION
1. Organizers has right to modify the Regulation in any time before the final date for applying for the Festival. Any changes made in the Regulation shall be immediately published on the Internet webpage of the Festival www.carpathia.rzeszow.pl. In case any modification will be made in the Regulation after qualifying the participant for the Festival; the Regulation shall be sent immediately to the qualified participants.
2. The organizers reserve the right to change the dates indicated in this Regulation.
3. All modifations to the Regulation made by the organizers and changing the dates obliged to the participant of the Festivals.
4. In cases causing dispute regarding this Regulation, the crucial interpretation belongs to the Festival Organizers.
